Memorable May

Manzanita was our home over Memorial Day Weekend.  Theo, Gus and Beau wasted no time in leaving their mark on the beach. No high tide could wash away the memories of all the fun they had.

Theo's first walk on the beach was one of wonder and fists full of sand entering his mouth. 

 

Holding a shell close to one's head brings you closer to nature and all it's wonder.

Smiles are plentiful when you have sand between your toes and its not raining on the Oregon Coast.

Beau and Gus discussing the tidal shifts and whether or not this is a sign of global warming OR maybe they are talking about what kind of ice cream to have after dinner.  Either way they're enjoying their time together.

Beau: "I think on a clear day you can see all the way to China."

Hi Ho... Hi Ho... Off to Short Sands we go.  Hi Ho.. Hi Ho... This is one of our favorite beaches because of the amazing 1/2 mile hike through old growth forest.  It reminds you of Middle Earth from The Lord of The Rings.

 

We are walking on what was once the only road along this stretch of the Oregon Coast. This roadway carved into the cliffside revealed itself at low tide, so for part of every day cars weren't able to pass. This spot is called Hug Point (Click on this link to see a little history of this road and a vintage postcard with a car driving on the same spot where we're walking).

Sea anemone live in tidal pools all along the Hug Point roadway.  

Happy! Happy! Joy! Joy!

My name is... My name is Beau Biddy.  Beau signs in for the last time at Hancock Street Preschool. 

Beau receives her diploma and memory book from Mrs. Hodge.  Over the past year, Beau has grown so much in the classroom. So proud of her.

Beau leaves preschool ready to explore the world. 

Gus sporting some facial hair on Mustache Day at Irvington minutes before he makes his acting debut in the 1st Grade school performance.

 Gus shows off his Cheetah mask that he created for the performance. There were some Broadway producers in the audience that day, and we've heard that the show might move onto New York.
